The Miz (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
(Intercontinental Championship Match)
The feud that never seems to end. These two have feuded since WrestleMania, and prior to that feuded only few months earlier over the same title. Now, they battle once again with only one difference: the arrival of the Miz-tourage. The Miz has recruited Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel to watch his back against The Lunatic Fringe. As for when this feud might finally end, your guess is as good as mine.
Prediction: The Miz
The Miz has now begun to enter conversations about the greatest IC Champions of all time. He has done tremendous work to improve the title and bring legitimacy back to the mid-card belt. Now, with a new entourage at his back, he can continue this trend with up-and-coming talent on Raw in the coming months. Ambrose seems wasted on the belt and could do with some non-title feuds to help his momentum.
Sheamus and Cesaro (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz
(Raw Tag Team Championship 30-Minute Iron Man Match)
While teams shatter (The Golden Truth, Enzo and Cass) or recover from injury (The Revival), The Hardy Boyz and the team of Sheamus and Cesaro have been holding down the Raw Tag Team Division. Sheamus and Cesaro have found an excellent stride with their heel personas, and The Hardyz continue to show why they are one of the most well-regarded tag teams in WWE history. With an excellent opportunity to steal the show with their Iron Man Match, expect another fun showing from the two duos.
Prediction: The Hardy Boyz
There are rumors upon rumors swirling about both of these teams. Matt Hardy is expected to take on his Broken gimmick sooner rather than later, and Sheamus is expected to take time off for a film he is in. Regardless, the division is currently void of top babyface talent, so having The Hardy Boyz battling The Revival seems like the next logical step.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe
(WWE Universal Championship Match)
When Lesnar vs. Joe was made official, many expected this to be a rinse and repeat process of Brock showing off his strength, F-5’ing Joe a couple times on Raw, then retaining the belt at Great Balls of Fire. The build to this match has been very different. Samoa Joe has dominated Brock multiple times and looks like a legitimate threat to The Beast. With ratings falling and fans complaining about the lack of a major title on Raw, there is a distinct possibility that Joe comes out on top.
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
Fans would go insane if the Samoan Submission Machine came out of Sunday as the new Universal Champion. However, the likelihood of such a swerve at the top of the card is unlikely. Lesnar is the big money-maker and taking the belt off of him in his first defense would do further harm to the character. It will be unfortunate to see Joe fall after such an amazing growth the past few weeks, but he should remain near the top of the card for many months to come.
